Glassbooth

We interrupt these Birthday Bohemian celebrations to bring you the following special announcement:

Get thee to the Internets and check out this site: glassbooth.org

It's a candidates/issues site. OK, here's the deal. You take a short quiz telling where you stand on the issues. The site then tells you which 3 candidates are closest to your views, and why, using a percentage. You can choose any other candidate in the 4th slot to see how they match up with you.

Here's the cool part: before you take the quiz (which only takes a few minutes), you allocate points to the issues, giving the ones you are most interested in more weight. You have 20 points to allocate among 14 issues. If an issue is not important to you (like say, gun control), you don't have to give it any points. The questions in your quiz are then based on the issues YOU think are important, meaning your results are calculated around what you personally feel strongly about.

You can look at an issue summary for how each candidate matches up with your views, ranging from very similar to very different. Clicking on an issue shows details on where the candidate stands, citing examples from speeches, voting records and events.

They also have a page called Explore Candidates, where they have all the candidates on one side, all the issues on the other, and you can mix and match. They also have links for basic info about the issues.

Anyway, check it out!

My top 3 (Richardson #1 At 77%) don't stand a chance. Obama and Edwards tied for 4th with me at 74%.

My top three were Kucinich, Gravel, and Richardson. My next three were (in order) Edwards (84%), Clinton (80%), then Obama(76%).

I think the health care question put Obama in 6th place, and not sure why Edwards scored above Clinton.

It's an interesting quiz (and always important to come back to the issues when the politics get heated), but I'll still put myself in the Clinton camp because I think she's the smartest of the three, and would be the most effective ("from day one," as she likes to repeat).

My top three were Kucinich (86%), Edwards(84%), Gravel(84%). Then Richardson,Obama and Hillary. Huckabee came in 11th place at 34% which is way too high in my book.

This is a great find, I still can't decide though.

My results told me that I was far too liberal and should move to Sweden immediately. No, it told me that Kucinich was my man. Yeah, like THAT will ever happen..... Thanks, it was fun.

Holy crap! Sageweb and I have almost the same numbers! HAH HAH!
Kucinich 86%
Edwards 84%
Gravel 81%
Clinton 81%

That is awesome. I don't even know who Gravel is. But I am weirded out that no Obama even showed up.

YDG: Me too on the Kucinich thing! He's my closest match by far, 91%. But it's not reality for him to get elected, and I'm not he's ballsy enough to handle international things. (Although his hottie wife apparently considers him plenty ballsy...)

Gavin: I came in Kucinich, Obama/Edwards tied. Previously I had Gravel come in 2nd, but I'm not sure I didn't mess up one of my questions.

Red: I was backing off Obama because of the health care issue, but as I"ve been reading more about it, I felt better about it. THe one-liners they give him ("doesn't support universal health care") aren't fully accurate. I'm liking a lot of what Edwards has to say, but I don't know. I have backed off Hillary more in recent weeks, but I don't like that that's happening for some reason. The Repubs hate her so much, that's kind of scary for me too. I was really pissed off today when the media went nuts over her "tearing up" -- give me a fucking break, please don't give me that "she's a woman, too emotional!" bullshit! Maybe she just gives a shit, given what she was talking about at the time. Also, quit bringing up her goddamn OUTFITS during the debates, for Pet's sake! God! Testosterone -- reign it in, assholes.

Sageweb: Hmm, I"ll have to check how the Repubs came in ... I'm thinking 0%?

Elizabeth: Mine told me I should marry a hotass Canadian who has a winter home in Mexico.

Hat: Gravel is a crazy old coot -- one news station said he was like that weird uncle who shows up for holiday dinners and says crazy shit out of the blue. He's quite entertaining.

I'm a Kucinich supporter. What a surprise. Not. They also suggest that nut Gravel as second choice and Hillary as number 3, but I would vote for Clinton, never for Gravel.

Kucinich would never win. Though I love the fact that he is an unashamed liberal. I lean towards Clinton and Edwards. Obama doesn't thrill me. He really lost me with his ex-gay pal and then having Oprah (god I can't stand that woman) endorse him. I'll vote for him if he wins the primary, but just like John Kerry, I'll be holding my nose in the voting booth.

Evil-G: Yeah, I wasn't crazy about that whole ex-gay religious guy either. But I'm less than thrilled with Edwards' thoughts on The Gays as well. Kucinich and Gravel are the best as far as that issue goes, but hell, Gravel is just a freakshow, and Kucinich, well, it just ain't gonna happen. I'll vote for the person in blue, of course - what can you do, you know? Actually, I think overall, the top 3 are good candidates. I mean we had Kerry last time. And look at the Red side ... yikes!
