Harsh Interrogation Techniques

CIA Director Michael Hayden will testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee tomorrow, on the matter of the unfortunate Torture Tapes Incident.

Apparently, tapes recorded in 2002 documented the "harsh interrogation techniques" used on "terror suspects". The tapes were destroyed in 2005 for some reason, against legal advice. Our clueless leader has "no recollection" of having knowledge of the tape destruction beforehand, despite the fact that then-White House Counsel Harriet Miers knew, and advised against it. Of course, Dubya probably can't rightly recollect the last time he and Laura made whoopee either, so that's neither here nor there.

What I'm wondering is, since our government insists that these techniques are not torture, but in fact are effective methods used to extract accurate information ... will the Senate Intelligence Committee be using these "harsh interrogation techniques" during their questioning of Michael Hayden?

Goose, gander, and all that.

I think they should also apply them to the shrub, Rove, and Cheney as well. The whole Scooter Libby fiasco may just get explained. I vote to allow the Wilsons first crack at the interrogation.

One would think that the viewing of torture would be something one would remember. And if, like myself, one didn't remember such a thing, one would be quite comfortable in saying, "that never happened; I would have remembered that."

This whole "doesn't recall" b.s. is just that -- Bull$#!t. How can anyone possibly take it seriously?

Le sigh.

This administration and what they have done to this country makes me sick!

Tater: Hear, hear! And Bravo on the Wilsons idea! Genius.

Red: Yes, that whole "I don't recall" business just makes me want to slap him. What he really means is, "I'm not going to commit either way, so it will look like I didn't know, but if I get caught, I can just play like I didn't remember it." Asshat.

Whim: I agree. Sick enough to puke on Dubya's shoes.

Makes you want to cock back a big ole right hook, doesn't it?

Great point, cowbell! And Tater, brilliant! But let's let Valerie have the first shot. Anyway, the Bushies are all "Christians," right? Ten Commandments - "do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

I know I've probably beat this whole thing to death...BUT!..I cannot help but continue to draw parallels between this administration, and the Nazi propoganda machine..
Bushco subscribes to the theory that if you continue to tell the same lies over and over,it somehow equals the truth.
"Harsh interrogation" techniques..Am I supposed to construe that as,.I don't know...Yelling at them really, really hard?..This administration is the single greatest threat to the American way of life since this country's inception, and I can't wait to be rid of them.

Doralong: It certainly does. With maybe a well aimed boot, to boot.

Elizabeth: Oh Val should definitely get the first shot! And somehow I think Dubya isn't up on the Golden Rule.

Sling: Amen. Yeah, well you can just keep right on beating that horse, as far as I'm concerned. Maybe if enough people keep saying THAT, it will counter the lies he keeps saying. (I know, I know, but worth a shot)

Can we waterboard the entire Bush family? I mean the way they describe it sounds like fun for the whole family! I am so ashamed of this country. I ask myself have we really become this crazy and frightened? I guess the answer is yes.

Asshats, all of them.

I've long that that those who don't think water boarding is torture should submit to it themselves, live and on camera, just to show us what a no big deal it is. Start with Rove and Cheney. With Bush in the room. Maybe Drew Carey could host. It'd be ratings winner for sure and they wouldn't need writers.

Great question re:Hayden.
So...they had to protect the ID of our torturers, but decided to expose Valerie Plame? I wonder how many of her contacts were murdered after Scooter outed her to the terra-ists?
