No Means No, Hillary.

Barack Obama, on the Clintons' repeated hints that he settle for VP:

I've won twice as many states as Senator Clinton. I've won more of the popular vote than Senator Clinton. I have more delegates than Senator Clinton. I don't know how somebody who is in second place is offering the vice presidency to the person who is first place.

I don't want anybody here thinking that somehow, 'Well, you know, maybe I can get both.' Don't think that way.

... in fact, this kind of gamesmanship — talking about me as vice president, but 'maybe he’s not ready for commander in chief' — that’s exactly the kind of double-speak, double-talk that Washington is very good at.

If I'm not ready ... how is it that you think I should be such a great vice president?

No means no, Hillary. Have some pride; quit stalking the man.

I quite concur. she needs to stop the pandering bullshit, and just get on with the presentation of her ideas. If those ideals and ideas she has, can't win her the election, she doesn't deserve it. Stop with the transparent gaming of the process, stop stealing tag lines on the one hand, and whining on the other, and get on with a real campaign. The more she stoops to the republican level with the shady campaign tactics, the more I completely dislike her. I want to vote for whomever the nominee is, but she is dangerously close to pushing me beyond reasonable action. I used to greatly admire her, and was proud to have her and Obama represent political progress. The more Rovian her and Bill become, the more disillusioned I become. Voting for her is becoming almost as distasteful as voting for Mccain. I am saddened, because I never, ever, thought I would ever say that.

When I was a kid,I grew up with the notion that,'Any young boy can grow up to President!'..
Times change, and I'm selling my chance to be President on E-Bay.
The good news is,this is how change occurs Cowbelle. As awkward, and unwieldy as 'The good ol' boy' network finds it,the status quo is about to get a wake up call.
Our next President will either be a white female,or a black male.
Of this I am certain.
Either way,it's about goddamm time!

I wasn't going to, but after the article in The Huffington Post by Rosanne Barr, "Bow To The Woman, Obama" I'll just say it.

There is something completely repellent about a white woman telling a black man in America to be vice president, and "bow to the woman". Considering less than 100 years ago, looking sideways at a white woman was enough to get a black man a free ride at the end of a noose. This country has done a brilliant job at positioning black male sexuality at odds with white womens virtue, so much so that the prisons are often stacked with a disproportionate number of black men convicted of sexually violent crimes to which a certain per centage are innocent. Before one of the weekend warrior "I get racism" white liberal progressives tells me to "lighten up", I'd say take a good look at rates of convictions and stats put out by the innocence project. Thought so.

Telling Obama to settle, is racist, plain and simple. And no, "intention", whatever it may be, is not a relevant deference

My emails from the Obama campaign rarely mention Hillary...he's already focused on McCain, it seems, and has written her off...maybe he'll ask her to bow down to him, offer her an internship or something...

Tater: Yes yes yes! Even being on the Obama side of the fence, I'm so disappointed in the Clinton's campaign the last couple of weeks. Last month I could've happily voted for Clinton if she got the nom. Now ... of course I'll vote for whoever the Dem nominee is, but i'd have to hold my nose for Hillary now. Which is a damn shame and I just don't get it.

Granny: Yes ... which i really hate to see, because you know folks are going to pull out that "well, ain't that just like a woman bullshit.

Slingster: You're right, and pulling the wisdom out. I'll get over it if Clinton wins -- as you've said, it will be change, and yes, change is slow. If we dick around too long on the blue side though, I'm worried the repubs will rally 'round their man while we're not looking, enough to steal another election... (please, no no no)

Al: I won't tell you to lighten up, ha. You make an excellent point; one that people are generally not comfortable acknowledging. The ugly truth though, is there is still discomfort and many issues around that dynamic. The system was set up purposefully for certain results, and that's one. Every mother of a Black teenage son gets that; it's a dynamic that is still in place, and still potentially dangerous. Some places more than others, but it's part of our history.

Honestly, I've felt some discomfort over a Clinton/Obama ticket lately -- but the way she's treating him and carrying herself now makes a difference. And, as a woman, I have to tell you there is also the different discomfort the other way -- the woman playing second fiddle to the man has its issues as well.

There are deep issues from our histories that Americans will have to eventually deal with, issues that are farther under the surface than the obvious race/gender stuff that folks believe we're fully facing now, with these candidates. That's just a scratch on surface...

Allan: I hope they can stop dicking around soon, so somebody will be focusing on McCain!

Never did understand the logic of Ms. Second Place telling Mr. Front-Runner that he'd make a good VP, when he's not good enough to be President.

But then again, not much out of the Hillary campaign makes sense anyway. She needs to bow out graciously and maybe, just maybe if she keep hers pie-hole shut for the rest of the campaign, President Obama will appoint her to the Supreme Court when and if there is an opening during his 1st term.

Used to be, for me anyway, that if she was the nominee, I would gleefully go vote for her during the general election. Now, I guess, if that happens (unlikely) I'll have to hold my nose and vote. Ugh.

Is it me, or is her voice beginning to sound like fingernails scraping across a chalkboard?

Oh, my gosh, Hillary on the Supreme Court. Now THAT is something I could get excited about.

She is really pissing me off these days. When people get desperate they do stupid things and I just feel like she's so thrown by the fact that she didn't cake walk to the nomination that she may never recover. Seriously.

Also, she says, "you know" way, way, waaaaay too much. You know?

RG: I can't see her bowing out graciously. And I'd never thought of the Supreme Court -- not sure that could even happen, how many decades since she's practiced law? Yeah, I'll be holding my nose if she gets the nom.

Lorraine: You know, *har har* desparation does tend to bring out the ugly. And there's plenty of ugly going on in this campaign. I'm tired of it already.
